CANLOVE association steps into third year after its establishing in 2006, and this is the year that CANLOVE telephone guidance transforms. By the supporting of Taiwan mobile phone foundation, CANLOVE warm heart 880 program is finally unfold. That to propagate the program is to hope to reinforce the melancholy acquaintance and to establish the mechanism of understanding group with telephone volunteer work guidance net. CANLOVE expects to recruit 300 volunteer workers within a year. Hope they will become telephone volunteer workers and accompany volunteer workers through training. It will increase the supporting strength for melancholy people. This program will then serve more people.
CANLOVE director general Jane Jin Biao expresses: telephone volunteer workers hotline will first permeate through transferring agency to know the individual case. The volunteer workers call out to proceed with the guidance with knowledge, emotion crisis disposal and experience sharing accompany with these transferring services. At present, there are five hotlines (from Monday to Friday, 10:00am – 17:00pm) to be ready for melancholy people.
And then, every phone call links to every chance. Like many friends impression to melancholy people, the CANLOVE supervise Kao Li Zhi says, melancholy makes many people fall into helplessness and hopelessness. It will appear crisis to let the living out of control, from body to psychology and from behavior to cognition. And more, to the last moment the feeling of the death will lose the fear ability.
CANLOVE association’s director, also Ma Jie Hospital’s Liu Xun Ying, according to statistics, points out that 80 – 100% of suicide persons are melancholy patients. And according to WHO research finds, the whole world averages each 100 people having 3 people suffering from melancholy. In Taiwan, Taipei Municipal Hospital Song De Branch psychiatry department chief physician Ton Hwa Sun expresses, about 15% people in its population have serious or light blue symptom. In 23,000,000 populations, about 3,450,000 people more or less have melancholy tendency.
Melancholy with cancer and AIDS are three biggest diseases in 21 century. It often results in patient suicide and it is not a mere patent for working people. Dong Shi Foundation investigated last year, that there was one in four college students having melancholy tendency.
In melancholy storm’s life rescue fight, CANLOVE permeates every phone call to link to every chance. Because many melancholy friends are not willing to go out or call out for help, CAMLOVE permeates telephone’s guidance to call or answer the phone through hotline to help melancholy people. It is initiated in Taiwan and at present it is a unique hotline to call melancholy people timely.

Near upon 6000 people a year Love is a medicine, and very effective.
As in 2006, then near upon 6000 people a year, at 880 program hotlines, start to unfold the effort to communicate and to keep away from blue. CANLOVE association's telephone volunteer workers, many have relative emotion bewildering experience. They also obtain volunteer workers’ training. Both have help to reinforce the guidance skill. From sanitary education information to doctor’s advice, CANLOVE voice at telephone is the hope that the supporting strength will be to exert and to retrieve healthy strength.
Mother Dong is a CANLOVE association’s volunteer worker, and she is also a volunteer worker at Taipei Medical Hospital. She undertakes the inquiring telephone's volunteer work at least two times every week. Accepts the patients’ incoming telephone inquiry and give them timely encouragement. Mother Dong says, she does not get along with husband's mother. The comfort from husband’s father once became a very big supporting. But when father-in-law died of illness, she suddenly lost the supporting and therefore initiated the outbreak of melancholy and always had the stomach ache. She even wanted to be in hospital.
Mother Dong says, she saved many relatives and friends telephone numbers during the melancholy outbreak. She also saved many lifelines and TEACHER CHANG’s telephone numbers for help. When in poor mood, she brought her mobile phone and went cry at seaside. She then called these phone numbers after finishing crying to release her burden in mind. Even did not know whom she talked to, she got comfort imperceptibly.
Because ever helped by others, now mother Dong also use telephone to help other people. By means of telephone, she also can encourage some melancholy patients. The way that other people helped her in the past, now she also can use to help the people who needed. Mother Dong says, love is a medicine, and very effective. She gets different life by means of other people’s help. Now she can say, I am happy and that I can help the other is really very happy.
